Moving Checklist

Your Guide to a Stress-Free Move

Moving is an exciting change, but it comes with important tasks to manage. To make the process easier, we’ve put together checklists to help you stay on track with all the necessary steps. These checklists are designed to guide you through each phase of your move and ensure everything is in order.

Move-In Checklist

OBTAIN RENTERS INSURANCE

Purchase renters insurance and provide proof of coverage to CB Property Manager before moving in.

TRANSFER UTILITIES

Contact utility providers to transfer electricity, gas, water, and any other required services into your name before move-in.

LEASE SIGNING & PAYMENTS

Sign the lease agreement. Pay first month’s rent, 1.5 months’ security deposit, and real estate agency fee (all payments must be made by bank cashier’s check). Complete and sign a W9 form at lease signing.

SCHEDULE MOVE-IN INSPECTION

Arrange a move-in inspection with CB Property Manager to document the property’s condition.

Move-Out Checklist

PROVIDE WRITEN NOTICE

Submit a written notice to CB Property Manager stating your intent not to renew your lease as per the lease terms.

CONTINUE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE

Maintain any required upkeep per your lease agreement, such as landscaping, snow removal, or other tenant responsibilities, until your move-out date.

CLEAN & REMOVE PERSONAL ITEMS

Leave the rental in the same condition as when you moved in. Ensure the property is broom-swept, with all personal belongings, trash, and debris removed.

KEY RETURN & FINAL INSPECTION

Return all keys, garage openers, and access cards on or before your move-out date.

We perform a final inspection when you vacate the premises and if we identify any damage, we will schedule repairs and deduct expenses from your deposit. The remainder will be returned to you.
